Saint Rose Philippine Duchesne Catholic Parish ("Saint Rose," "we," "us," or "our") operates the SaintRose mobile app and the saintroseanthem.org website. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, and a small amount of information the app generates automatically to make features work.
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. You can sign in with a password, or with your Google or Apple account, in which case those services confirm your identity to us.
Profile photo. If you choose to add a photo to the Parish Family Directory, we store the photo you select from your camera or photo library. Directory photos are visible to other members within the app.
Community and ministry content. Messages and posts you submit in ministry chats and community boards are stored so they can be displayed to other members and moderated by parish staff.
Calendar events. With your permission, the app can add parish events to your device's calendar. We do not read or collect the contents of your existing calendar.
Device and notification identifiers. The app generates a device identifier and a push-notification token so we can deliver announcements to your device and prevent duplicate votes in parish polls.
We do not collect your precise or approximate location, and the app does not include advertising or analytics tracking software.
How We Use Your Information
To operate core features: the parish directory, event calendar, ministry chats, community boards, and parish polls.
To send you push notifications about parish announcements and events, where you've allowed notifications.
To moderate community content, including reviewing reported messages and removing content that violates our Terms of Use & Community Guidelines.
To maintain the security of accounts and prevent misuse, such as duplicate poll voting.
Who We Share Information With
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising purposes. We share information only as follows:
Service providers. The app is built on Firebase (a Google service), which hosts our database, file storage, authentication, and push notifications. Firebase processes data on our behalf under Google's own data processing terms.
Sign-in providers. If you sign in with Google or Apple, those companies confirm your identity to us; we don't receive your password.
Other parish members. Directory listings and community/ministry posts are visible to other signed-in members, consistent with the purpose of those features.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our community.
Your Choices
Access and correction. You can update your profile information and photo directly in the app.
Notifications. You can disable push notifications at any time in your device settings.
Account deletion. You can delete your account and associated personal information directly from the Me tab in the app. You can also request deletion without the app using our Delete My Account form. If you need help, contact us at thenrich@stroseanthem.com.
Age Requirement
SaintRose is intended for adult members of our parish community. You must be 18 years old or older to create an account. Your profile photo may be a personal or family photo. The Parish Family Directory does not create separate listings for children — only the adult account holder's name and contact information are shown. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to create an account or knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that someone under 18 has created an account or provided us with personal information, we will delete it and remove the account. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted connections and access controls, to protect the information we store. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
